In order to become part of the IndieSOS family, you must be serious about a career in acting. You must have the time to pursue it, and be willing to work in a collective environment to make it happen. You can not approach it as a hobby and expect to succeed. Our actors are almost always working on a film or on stage in one capacity or another. Days can be very long and can start very early (often before sunrise). You have to have a subsistence career that gives you enough time to pursue a career. Being unemployed almost never works.
You have to understand that sacrifice, hard work, insane working conditions, challenging scripts, difficult people, and the “no excuse” world we live in is part of the everyday process. You have to be on time as you will waist dozens of dedicated hard working members time if you are not. You have to care about the film or stage project, the cast, the crew, and everything connected with it. You must not be overly sensitive to anything that you might see in the world of film, TV, cable or stage. You are not in Never Never Land.
Keep your politics, your ethics, your religion in check, and understand that you are about to walk through the door into a world that depicts the beauty, terror, hatred, cynicism, pain, ugliness, history and future of our world. There is no room for closed-minded, judgmental or inhibited actors in our world. We will drag our audiences screaming and kicking out of their blindfolded existence into the realm of independent film or stage, but you must come along willingly.
